Types of Pools We Build in Wagga Wagga

Fibreglass pools

The quickest path from a dirt patch to a swim. The shell turns up pre-moulded, drops into the excavated hole, and you're usually filling it within 7–14 days. They handle Wagga's hot-cold swing well without cracking, which is why most of our Riverina builds are fibreglass.

Concrete pools

The builds that don't fit a catalogue. Awkward block, sloping site, infinity edge over a Riverina view, a shape no shell-mould has ever produced — that's concrete territory. The build runs 8–12 weeks and costs more, but the design freedom is absolute. If you've got a specific vision, start here: concrete pool builds.

Inground pools

Both our fibreglass and concrete options are inground builds, which is what almost every Wagga Wagga homeowner wants. The real decision isn't "inground or not", it's "fibreglass shell or custom concrete?".

Give us a ring on (02) 6971 0818 and we'll walk you through it.

Lap pools

The build we get asked about by people who actually want to swim — not just sit in the water. Long, narrow, usually 10–15 metres, designed for laps rather than lounging. They suit long-thin Wagga blocks where a standard pool wastes the proportions, and pair well with heating for year-round training.

Designing Pools for the Wagga Wagga Climate

The Riverina is an inland thermal pocket: 40°C summer afternoons, single-digit nights, sub-zero frosts June through August. After 30+ years building through it, a few things are non-negotiable.

Soil and ground movement

Most of Wagga sits on heavy clay that expands when wet and shrinks when it dries. Poorly-engineered pools crack within a few summers. We over-engineer base preparation and use shells rated for reactive-clay sites — the difference between 20 years tight and a reline in 8.

Heat, evaporation, and water bills

A standard 8x4 pool in Wagga loses 20–40mm a week to evaporation through January and February — thousands of litres before anyone swims. We design with this in mind: covers sized to the shell, western-sun shade, recessed solar blanket rollers.

Frost and shoulder-season heating

The pool won't freeze, but exposed plumbing, pumps, and salt cells will. We lag and locate equipment with Wagga frosts factored in. A heat pump or solar set-up extends the Riverina swim season from 4 months a year to 8.

Water restrictions

Wagga has been on water restrictions intermittently for years, and the rules shift between seasons. We design to minimise top-up demand from day one: covers properly fitted to the shell, accurate fill calculations, and equipment that doesn't over-backwash.

Pools We've Built Across Wagga & the Riverina

Three decades of work means most of Wagga has one of our pools in it somewhere. We've built across the established family suburbs of Lake Albert, Tatton, Mount Austin, and Bourkelands, where bigger blocks suit full-sized family pools, and the soil profile is consistent enough to plan around. In the newer estates like Estella and Glenfield Park, the work shifts toward tighter footprints, infill builds, and pools that have to share the yard with everything else a young family needs.

Outside Wagga itself, we travel for the work. Recent projects have taken us out to Junee, Tumut, Cootamundra, Gundagai, and Temora, each with its own soil, access, and council conditions to plan around. Building in a regional town isn't the same as building in a Wagga subdivision, and after 30+ years of doing both, we know where the differences matter.

You can see a cross-section of recent builds in our gallery, or call us on (02) 6971 0818 to talk through a build near you. We're happy to point you to a finished pool in your suburb if you'd rather see one in person than on a screen.
